WandersKaty has been online since May 13, 2026. New travel stories, practical advice, itineraries and water trip ideas are gradually being added.

Travel is not an escape from reality for me. It is a way to return to it with a clearer head.

Why this blog exists

Pack your backpack,let’s go.

I work as a criminal police investigator. My job is demanding, full of stories, emotions and human lives. It has taught me to notice details, think practically and make the most of limited time. That is useful when travelling, too.

I do not have endless holiday time or an unlimited budget. That is why I make sure every trip makes sense. I look for places with atmosphere, good accommodation, reasonable flights and experiences that are genuinely worth it.

Travel is a counterbalance to work for me. It is a way to switch off, breathe and remember that the world is bigger than everyday responsibilities. I love views along the way, small cafés, ordinary streets and places I never originally planned to find.

WandersKaty was not created to present a perfect travel life. It was created to share the real journeys of an ordinary person who has to plan holidays around work, a budget and everyday responsibilities.

You will find our travel stories, practical advice, itineraries and tips that I would have appreciated before my first trip. There is no unnecessary posing or sugarcoating. The focus is on making travel accessible to people who do not have months off and do not want to spend a fortune on every journey.

What you will find on the blog

  • honest personal travel stories,
  • practical advice before your trip,
  • itineraries and trip ideas,
  • real experiences with transport, prices and planning,
  • places with atmosphere and stories of their own.

Why I travel

Travel gives me perspective. It helps me slow down, see the world differently and collect experiences that are not only about beautiful photos, but mainly about atmosphere, people, food and moments that cannot be planned.

What I want to share

I want to show journeys as they really are: beautiful places and practical tips, but also the things that are useful to know in advance. That way, readers can decide whether a similar trip is right for them.
